After graduation, I attended Memphis State for one semester and then joined the Air Force National Guard. I then came back to Memphis and graduated and was discharged from National Guard in 1975. In August of 1977 I was hired on at this new company called Federal Express. And 26 years later they offered me early retirement, so I retired in 2003. I married Bettye Hamby, from Ripley TN, in 1980 and we had our only child, Betsy in 1981. We lived in midtown on Mignon until 1984 when we moved to Germantown. After Betsy graduated from Houston HS, we moved back to the house I grew up in on Parkway Place. We moved to Collierville in 2003 and a week after we moved I found out I could retire that September. I retired and we now live in Olive Branch, MS. I enjoy University of Memphis basketball and football games with old freinds Russell Pridemore, Bart Creedon, Paul Newman, and Lance George. I also play alittle golf, when I get a chance, going to the beach on vacation. |
